I'm afraid I have an announcement to make:

Regrettably, due to the lack of respondents to both the FFA Fundraisers Compilation, and the FFA Fundraisers Auction, both these events have now been cancelled. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who pledged an item, or signed up for the compilation, but sadly we cannot move ahead at this time. If you have already made a donation, please contact a member of the compilation team.

Due to delayed interest in the compilation - and our desire to make sure everyone who wants to participate can - we will be extending the signup dates for authors & banner makers one more time. The new deadline to signup will be 11:59pm PST US August 1, 2013.

A Few Changes...For the Greater Good

We'd like to thank everyone who has signed up to be a part of FFA Fundraisers 2013 Compilation for volunteering to help us make a difference in our global community, but we still need so much more help. In the interest of making things better, we've implemented a few changes effective immediately.

1. The signup deadline for both authors and banner makers has been extended to July 15, 2013.
2. The date an author may request a beta or banner maker for their submission has been extended to August 1, 2013
3. We have decided to focus our attention on just one charity: Futures Without Violence: http://www.futureswithoutviolence.org 

The decision to narrow the choices of charitable organizations to one was a long and difficult one, but we feel the right choice was made. Futures Without Violence is an non-profit organization that works to end domestic and other types of abuse through awareness, advocacy, and support on a global scale. Please join us in helping this wonderful charity reach its goals of offering aid to those in need.

Do you read, write, or make banners for fanfiction (of any fandom)?! Are you crafty & make pretty things or just have a bunch of stuff lying around that you no longer want (fandom related or not)?! Do you have a desire to help the world be a better place!? Then the 2013 FFA Fundraiser Team needs YOU!!!!

FanFic-aholics Anonymous' 2013 Fundraiser campaign has kicked off with two fantasti-rific events this summer. The first is the Aca-awesome Aca-auction where you...yes YOU...donate items for people to bid on (you decide what charity(ies) will benefit from your generosity).
The second is the 2013 FFA Fundraiser Compilation where we've selected three amazing global charities for you to choose from (see post below), and a $5 (of any currency, depending on where you live) donation to any one of them will get you a fabul-awesome compilation of stories from several different fandoms (all are welcome...even crossovers!!!).

FYI...you do not need to be a member of the main FFA group to participate in either fundraiser, but you will need to join the FFA Fundraiser group to bid in the auction (because that's where the items will be showcased). FFA FUNDRAISERS???

FanFicaholics Anonymous is a group of fanfiction addicts which strives to not only blur, but to erase the lines that separate fandoms. Ours writers, readers, and banner makers span 20+ fandoms and just as many countries. We are truly global, and when it came to the 2013 FFA charity efforts, we wanted our efforts to reflect our attitude of a global community. With that in mind, we’d like to announce the First Annual (hopefully) FFA Fundraiser Compilation.

Your 2013 Compilation team are: Artemis Leaena, Lotty Twi Ffn, Maria Depp Burton, & Nicia VA-ff. Our mission: to bring together fanfiction writers, readers, and banner makers from all over the world, and every imaginable fandom, and work together to benefit causes/organizations which strive to improve the global community. The charities we have chosen have a presence in almost every corner of the world and are dedicated to working with the homeless, ending domestic and other types of abuse, and making a difference in the lives of children. Our chosen charities are:

1. DePaul International
2. Futures Without Violence
3. Make-A-Wish International

Even though we have selected three different charities to benefit from the compilation, the concept is the same as other compilation charities you may have participated in/donated to in the past. The difference here is that you … yes YOU … the donator will choose which of the three charities you wish to contribute to.

The signup period to participate as either an author or banner maker for the compilation will be open until June 30, 2013 US EST with submissions due no later than August 15, 2013 US EST. Donations are due no later than August 30, 2013 US EST, and the compilation will begin to go out to contributors on August 31, 2013 US EST. Detailed explanations of the rules/guidelines will be in following posts.
